A Non-Profit Success Story

Center for all Abilities has been serving young people with special needs for years, but their web presence didn’t yet match the amazing work they were doing every day. We built them a new site and tackled some of the biggest problems facing the organization in this digital age.

Your team was ready for a new site - what was the main motivation for the fresh start?

We wanted to ensure that our site was easy to navigate, and that it was as concise as possible so that viewers had a clear idea of CAA's mission, vision, and main programs and offerings. We had also recently revamped our mission and vision to be more fully in line with the goals we had for our program participants and our community, so this became the perfect opportunity to relay these changes and modernize our website!

Perhaps the main reason behind upgrading the site was creating an easy workflow for volunteers, mentors, and donors. Can you tell us a bit about that?

For our new website, we wanted to offer ways for anyone involved (or not involved) with CAA to be able to clearly find the information they needed. With this new site, it’s easy to ask us questions about various programs through "learn more" buttons - so this is an easy way for volunteers or anyone wishing to support or learn more about our programs to be in direct contact with someone who can help them. This button allowed for more concise program descriptions, which made each page more manageable for the viewer. It also allowed for fewer site pages and less words, which at first challenged us to minimize the information we offered on the website, but in turn made it much easier to navigate.

We're excited to see Center for All Abilities thriving - what's next for the organization?

Just last month, we opened a new center in Queens! We've partnered with Flushing's Chinese Alliance Church (CAC) to offer services to those in need in Queens who have challenges commuting via public transportation to our Manhattan site. We continually strive to offer support and programming to as many families in the community as we can to ensure that those in need are able to access our resources and are empowered to thrive in their community!
